Eagle Ocean Transport Inc. (EOTI) originally founded in the nineteen fifties acted as General Agents for Orient Mid-East Lines, a company which pioneered sailings of deep sea ships from the Great Lakes to the Mediterranean and Far East with what were then the biggest deep sea ships to call in the Great Lakes. Orient Mid-East Lines entered the tanker business in 1966 when it purchased the \u00ef\u00bf\u00bdOrient Sea\u00ef\u00bf\u00bd and \u00ef\u00bf\u00bdOrient Captain\u00ef\u00bf\u00bd which it operated under long-term charters to Mobil.
In the 1970\u00ef\u00bf\u00bds EOTI was the USA Agent for a number of tankers on charter to major U.S. oil companies as well as refiners and in the 1980\u00ef\u00bf\u00bds assisted its principals in a major tonnage renewal program.
Since 2003 EOTI has assisted in negotiating new building orders for one Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea, two Aframax tankers at Sumitomo Shipyard in Japan, four Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGC) and three Aframax tankers (LR2) all at HHI. EOTI was active in the negotiation of time charter contracts for a number of these new-buildings and for procuring financing from major banking institutions. EOTI also negotiated purchase and sales and charters of second hand bulk carriers, tankers, and pressurized gas carriers.
Presently, EOTI, as the USA Agent for Dorian (Hellas) S.A., continues to provide services in chartering, sale & purchase, finance<\/a>, P&I and insurance, shipping finance and conducts industry and competitive analyses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
