to source many deals. Presently Orient Caspian
Corp., has entered into a joint venture
with Singapore Offshore Petroleum Services
(SOPS) to develop support and logistics
services in the Caspian Sea.
This
joint venture company (SEMBCORP
ORIENT CASPIAN) has further signed another
joint venture agreement in Azerbaijan with
AZPETROL
in order to pursue logistics opportunities
jointly. Azpetrol is the largest private
oil company in Azerbaijan, and the largest
operator of petrol stations in the country.
The joint venture company is called SOPS
LLC. SOPS
LLC recently completed the handling,
and storage of over 10,000 pipes for EUPEC
Pipe Coating company. In addition it provides
bunkering services to a major supply boat
charterer, and to two oil companies for
their marine needs.
SOPS
LLC maintains a fully operational office
in Baku providing all offshore logistics
and bunkering services.
The
Caspian Sea region is ranked third in the
World in terms of oil and gas reserves and
is said to be the ‘North Sea’ of tomorrow.
By having a physical presence in this region
with the support of a local partner with
extensive experience and network, SOPS has
been able to position itself as the premier
integrated offshore logistics player in
the Caspian Sea region.
