Since 1973 Dorian has represented Principals whose history and involvement with Greek Mercantile Marine and international shipping dates back two centuries, having originated on the small Aegean island of Oinousses, the birthplace of a number of successful and respected ship-owning families.
In the past thirty six years Dorian has been entrusted with the management of thirty tankers (eight of which were VLCC/ ULCCs), nine gas (LPG) ships, four Bulk Carriers, and a General Cargo ship.
In the mid Nineteen Eighties Dorian’s principals completed a fleet renewal program whereby eight ships of total 1,143,000 tons and average age of 17 years were replaced by eight ships of 1,780,000 tons with an average age of 10 years. Recently Dorian completed the supervision, on behalf of separate owners, of ten ships with total contracted values in excess of five hundred million dollars: Eight ships at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea and two at Sumitomo Heavy Industries in Japan.
Dorian presently has under management three VLGCs (all built since 2006), three small Fully Pressurized gas ships, one LR2, and one Aframax tanker.
