EFP has an opportunistic appetite for investments and consequently sources prospective portfolio companies in numerous industries, including but not exclusively, energy and transportation, information technologies, telecommunications, entertainment and hospitality, consumer goods and financial services.

Stages
EFP will review opportunities in various stages of development although seed and early stage businesses are pursued more aggressively since EFP's venture managers wish to work closely with their portfolio companies during their early development stages.

Geographic Preference
EFP prefers to partner with portfolio companies that are within close proximity to their offices due to the amount of time spent with the management teams and the requisite traveling. EFP will consider investments that are further away when due diligence shows proximity to be less of an issue for such opportunities.

The company commenced operations in 1998 after securing a renewable 99 year license to brew and market Rheingold Beer from the Stroh Brewing Company, a subsidiary of the Pabst Brewing Company, Inc. Rheingold’s primary mission is to reintroduce a one time dominant brand of beer to the New York City Tri-state area and capitalize on the inherent historical good will associated with the brand while developing a fierce new loyalty amongst a targeted market of independent creative types that choose to call New York their home. The flagship beer has been updated in both design looks and taste to accommodate today’s consumer. The roll out of the product has taken place primarily in the bars and clubs of Manhattan’s Lower East Side and East Village, Brooklyn’s Williamsburg and Cobble Hill and Bell Boulevard, Queens. The company currently utilizes FX Matt Brewing Co. of Utica, New York to exclusively brew Rheingold Beer. Manhattan Beer Distributors, one of the nation’s largest beverage distribution operations, has been charged with helping the company get Rheingold into the roughly 20,000 on and off premise accounts that it covers.
